We’re delighted to announce the launch of Lifelong Strength – a brand new website for Sarah Marklew, a Personal Trainer in Tunbridge Wells working with women who want to get stronger, move better, and stay independent as they get older. Sarah also works with clients across the surrounding area – if you’re looking for a Personal Trainer in Crowborough, she covers that too – as well as a small number of exclusive clients in the centre of London.
About the Project
Sarah came to us with a clear vision and a refreshingly distinct approach to her work. Lifelong Strength isn’t your typical personal training business. There’s no transformation promise, no before-and-after photography, and no weight loss messaging. Instead, Sarah’s philosophy is rooted in something more honest and more lasting: training for life, not transformation.
Her clients train to carry the shopping, move the furniture, turn the mattress without asking for help – and to stay strong and independent as they get older. It’s functional strength for real life, and it’s a genuinely rare positioning in a market dominated by aesthetic outcomes.
Our job was to build a brand and website that reflected that philosophy faithfully, without dressing it up in gym-culture cliches.
What We Built
Brand identity – For Sarah, building a brand was new territory, and we approached it the way we always do with clients who are coming to this for the first time: one careful decision at a time. There’s no single moment where a brand suddenly exists – it emerges through layers of small, considered choices. We worked through logo concepts, icon development, colour palette, typography, and layout direction, presenting each element clearly and giving Sarah the space to respond, refine, and build confidence in what she was creating. The result is a brand that feels genuinely hers – because it was built with her, not handed to her.
The Lifelong Strength identity needed to feel warm and accessible while still carrying authority and credibility – no small ask in a market where fitness branding tends toward either clinical minimalism or high-energy performance aesthetics. We found a middle path that reflects exactly who Sarah is and who she works with.
Copywriting – All website copy was written to reflect Sarah’s ethos directly. We were careful to avoid any language that frames exercise as a corrective for appearance. The focus throughout is capability, confidence, and long-term wellbeing.
Website design and build – The site was built on Framer, giving Sarah an easy-to-manage platform she can update herself as her business grows. The design uses Cormorant Garamond for headings and Jost for body text – a pairing that brings warmth and elegance without feeling clinical.
Photography – Sarah worked with local photographer Rachel Hayes of Captured with Light for the site’s imagery. Having bespoke photography made a real difference – the shots reflect exactly the kind of environment and atmosphere Sarah creates with her clients, something stock photography simply can’t do.
What Makes Lifelong Strength Different
When we carried out our competitive research across the Tunbridge Wells and Crowborough fitness market, one thing stood out clearly: no local trainer occupies the functional strength space. Every competitor – without exception – leads with weight loss, body composition, or transformation messaging.
Sarah doesn’t. And that’s a genuine competitive advantage, not just a value statement.
Lifelong Strength speaks directly to women who’ve felt intimidated by gym culture, who’ve tried before and not found something that stuck, or who simply want to get stronger in a way that serves their actual lives. That audience exists, and until now, no one in the area has been speaking to them.
Go and Take a Look
The site is live now at lifelongstrength.co.uk – we’re proud of how it came together and think it genuinely reflects what Sarah and her business stand for.
If you’re based in Tunbridge Wells, Crowborough, or the surrounding area and you’re thinking about strength training, we’d encourage you to get in touch with her directly.
Lifelong Strength was a great project for our designer Matt Morse – the kind of work where the brief is clear and the client knows both what they stand for and was a delight to work with. We hope it shows.
